Due to the limitation of traditional separation technologies in fermentation industry, large amount of soluble proteins and big molecular weight impurities are still contained in the pretreated broth and taken into the downstream procedures, which increases the difficulties and loads of later extraction process, and affects the product quality and production yield. Suntar brings the Flow-cel separation technology for Chinese clients which breaks through the long-term technological bottleneck thoroughly.
With more than twelve years' R&D and industrial application, Suntar’s Flow-cel technology has been successfully applied in the fermentation industry for numerous production processes of antibiotics, vitamins, amino acids, organic acids, etc. The successful operation of about 500 flow-cel systems has accumulated rich and valuable technical and engineering experiences. So far there are large supplies of Suntar Flow-cel UF systems under operation, with the total membrane area up to several ten thousands square meters.
In 2007, Suntar developed the upgrade Flow-cel product based on the original Flow-cel system. Using the new membrane plate the membrane area is increased by 43% reducing the cost of investment in the system. As the new membrane plate is compatible with the original one, so it is easy for the client to upgrade the old flow-cel system by changing the membrane plate.
Principal Features:
- The molecular weight cutoff available from 10,000 to 200,000 and offering a much higher rejection than comparable inorganic membrane products
- The membrane flux of fermentation broth under normal temperature can be larger than 100LMH and the high flux can be maintained for a long period of time
- Specially suitable for the feed with high viscosity or SS
- Produce paste-like concentrated products
- Eliminating concentration polarization, aviod clogging and allow easy cleaning
- Separate operation or shutdown of individual modules in the system are possible
- The unit membrane area for inspection and replacement is only 0.1m2, low membrane replacement cost for accidental damage
